Most of these are most definitely not available anywhere but here, in this archive. When "Shaving Cream," was revived in 1975, mostly by the Dr. Demento show, it sold like mad. I was 12, and you can imagine the fun a 12-year-old lad who lead a sheltered life would have with that record, which, quite naturally, I was forbidden to buy. I sang it though, at every possible occasion, and over a space of years a pal of mine and myself added lots of verses Benny Bell hadn't thought of. Pauly Wynn sings lead on this classic, though Benny himself sings the lead on some of the others, which are good for laughs. I can see how '40s folks like my parents would have been scandalized, but these are positively tame when stacked up against to-day's rap and heavy metal, which are often filled with profanities and hideous suggestions.
