Clara, sick, heart-broken, unrestful, returned to N. Y. with Katy to rest awhile with Miss Dr. Parry. Katy Leary was with Susy when she died in '96, and with Livy when she died. She has been in our service 23 years. July 24. Cold. We built a fire in my room. Then clawed the logs out and threw water, remembering there is a brood of swallows in the chimney.
