Back in America

OCT. 14, 1900, Sunday noon. About 500 miles to make.
A spacious ship and most comfortable. Rides the seas
level, hardly any motion, no seasickness aboard. No table
racks.

The Mark Twain party had left Dollis Hill
early in October, sailing on the 6th, for America
by the steamer Minnehaha, arriving October
15, after a foreign residence of more than nine
years.

M.H. has gradually six bastards put upon him by the
courts, some on no good evidence but his lecherous char-
acter. Then dies and turns out to be a woman.

April 17. In N. Y. in 1895 w^en I was 60, Cheiro the
palmist told me that I should become very wealthy in my
68th year. I was a bankrupt and heavily in debt at the
time and I properly thanked him. He said it again in Lon-
don, two years afterward and I properly thanked him
again. Shall I be able to complete my thanks next year?
If not can I sue him for breach of promise?
