England Again

The Clemens family spent some months in
Sweden (summer of 1899), t^en located in Lon-
don (30 Wellington Court—later at Dollis Hill)
for the remainder of their European sojourn.

TRUE love is the only heart disease that is best left to
"run on."—The only affection of the heart for which
there is no help, and none desired.

Happiness is a Swedish sunset—it is there for all, but
most of us look the other way and lose it.

Fellow Savages: It is 27 years since I was here before.
Some of you have grown gray since then, others bald-
headed. I was six feet four then—now five feet 8J4 and
daily diminishing in altitude. Also in principles—the
shrinkage still goes on. I have not professionally dealt in
truth. Many when they come to die have spent all the
truth that was in them, and enter the next world as
paupers. I have saved up enough to make an astonish-
ment there.

I recognize changes. Irving was here then—is here now
—may he long abide. Hyde Park was only half as large
as it is now. The shilling was only half as big as it is, but
you could buy twice as much with it. Since then you have
borrowed our telephone, phonograph, and some other
